If a person took a picture of my closet, it would look like a black-and-white photo. I would say that 80% of my clothes are either black, white, or gray.
I always say I want to add color, and then when it comes time to check out at the boutique, I inevitably have an armful of black, white, and gray. This photo shoot was THE PERFECT spot to throw a little color into my world!
The silk top is from one of my favorite designers. She uses mostly Italian silk that doesn’t have to be dry-cleaned (BIG PLUS), and her entire line easily fits every body shape. I love that this top moves and flows and can look really dressy or can be a cover-up over a bathing suit.
I like to wear it with white slacks and my gold sandals (I love cobalt blue and gold together) for a bit more of a “Dressy/Comfy” look.
It’s a perfect choice to bring color into my black/white/gray world!
The Real-Real Behind the Scenes
Editor’s Note: This top photographed like a beautiful dream. Robin is actually wearing the artwork of friends, clothing designer Paula Davila who founded Sofia Collections in 2011 and jewelry designer Catherine Page in Frisco, TX.
A Little Background Music
“Have you seen her dressed in blue?… see the sky in front of you.” This is a gorgeous piece of video art using women depicted in art as its elements.
Mixed Media Necklace, Peruvian Opal, Catherine Page, $188. This is not the exact necklace Robin is wearing but the same artist. We adore designers like Catherine who states “When you wear my jewelry, I hope it helps you reflect the shimmering truth of who you are. That it causes your inner and outer self to match.” Ohmigoodness, why would we not want to support artists like this? — Marcie
*Photos of Robin were shot by Marcie Everhart at the very artsy and much beloved hippie hangout in Oklahoma City, The Red Cup.
