I promise this is the last coat we’ll talk about this winter! Haha. Well, maybe. This post is about when you need SERIOUS TECHNOLOGY to stay warm! Very important, ladies. Suki has her ThermoBall jacket from The North Face — this is my Omni-Heat Reflective jacket by Columbia, worn to dinner last night. The technology is a lining of little silver dots that reflect the body’s heat back to you, like a heat shield.
They’re locking phasers, Captain! Shields up! Alert Condition REDDD!! #captainkirkstyle #imatrekkie
When I first got my jacket, I was so thrilled I made a fun graphic to explain its amazing awesomeness. Science requires charts for our full understanding! The best thing is how lightweight it is yet effective.
I know, all you can see is mah crazy RED HOT plaid pants, lol, but it was the coat keeping me warm at Redrock Canyon Grill on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. I’ve never been there when there wasn’t hurricane-force winds whipping the shoreline. It’s truly the best sunset view in the city.
The Real-Real Behind the Scenes
I wore the jacket snowtubing — our baseball park downtown is turned into a snowtubing playground in the winter. I’m wearing a huge plaid puffer vest under it (a bad idea for anyone who doesn’t want to look pregnant). Actually, I have on four tops and two bottoms with Hot Chillys base layers under it all.
I look kinda schleppy — not fashion bloggy — basically the plaid is in the wrong place, right? We did have a lot of fun, and that’s more important. :^) I’m layered up like Ralphie in “A Christmas Story”…
but this jacket is thin and flattering and warm.
